Delete some of your data without deleting your account
You do not have to delete your account to remove what you have saved. In the app you can, at any time:
- Delete a wish, with its photo, from a list: open the list, tap Edit on the wish, then Remove this wish.
- Remove a whole list, which also stops every link to it: open the list → List settings → Remove list.
- Stop sharing a list without deleting it: open the list → Share → Stop sharing.
- Remove a person or a gift from your Inner Circle: open the person, then Archive person, or open a gift and remove it.
- Cancel a gift reservation you made on someone else’s list.
- Leave an Inner Circle, or have its organizer remove you.
Each of these deletes the data immediately. If you would rather we did it for you, email info@xmasgoat.com from your account’s email address with the subject “XmasGoat data deletion” and say what you want removed. We may need to verify ownership first. Do not send your password.
Groups made without an account are disposable by design: an exchange nobody saves, and the people records created for it, are deleted automatically 30 days after the exchange, and an unused account with no activity for 30 days is deleted with everything it holds.
What is removed when you delete your account
Your account, profile, wish list, sharing link, gift tracking and reservations are deleted. Exchanges you organize and lists you keep for someone else are deleted too; hand those lists over first if the family should keep them. Deletion cannot be undone.
Other people’s saved gift records may retain copies of wishes they saved. Shared history may retain an anonymous former-member placeholder. Operational backups and security or deletion records may persist under provider retention and legal obligations.
